Pork Chops with Homemade Gravy

Ingredients

Pork Chops

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 4 pork chops thick cut

  • salt to taste

  • pepper to taste

Gravy

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 3/4 cup milk + 1/4 heavy whipping cream

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

  • salt to taste

  • pepper to taste

Instructions:

Pork Chops

  1. Add the butter and oil to a large skillet and heat over medium-high heat. Add the chops and cook about 4 to 6 minutes per side. Make sure to sear the sides of the chops as well, since we are using thick pork chops.

  2. Transfer the pork chops to a plate and let them rest for 10 minutes.

Gravy

  1. In the same skillet add the butter and melt over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute, whisking continuously.

  2. Whisk in the milk + cream and the chicken broth until smooth. Cook for a couple more minutes until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper as needed. Place the pork chops into the gravy pan for a smothered pork chop taste.

  3. Let them simmer for about 5 minutes and Bon Appetite! I ate my pork chops with scallop potatoes and cornbread stuffing.
