It's so crazy to think that this is my first year teaching in Texas. I honestly thought that I would never leave Hawaii. It was a really hard decision, but financially it was getting harder. I loved teaching at Kanoelani with all my colleagues! That campus was truly magical!

Teaching in Texas is completely different. I had to learn to adjust to the TEKS Standards along with a lot of new programs. I was blessed to work with some wonderful educators to help me along the way. My class is so loving! Every Friday, they always ask for a hug goodbye since we won't see each other for two days. It always melts my heart everytime they want a hug. This why I love teaching 2nd grade. The students love to come to school and show excitement in class each day!

I was super excited to me awarded this award! I was recognized at my district's board meeting! This is a huge accomplishment and I have been inspired by so many educators along the way. I believe that teachers should be uplifting for one another and be each others biggest cheerleaders. My grade level teams each year have always been there for me and made me feel so loved and supported❤️ In the video, click at 1:07.

I was super excited to be a part of BISD first cohort and integrate technology into our learning! I was the representative for my school! One thing that I wanted to showcase in my classroom is learning about Forces in Motion. Students were able to create a project for other students in our grade level to play using a motion of sliding, spinning, pushing, or pulling. They created their project will all recycled items and their imagination!
